Telstra Perth Fashion Festival 2015: Jaime Lee

Unicorns, rainbows and sparkles oh my!

You know when you walk into Fashion Paramount and the end of the runway is flanked by an LED rainbow arch and two giant sparkly unicorns you are in for one amazing show. And Jaime Lee Major‘s show was beyond amazing! Titled “Light Years” the latest collection inspired by Tokyo and the infamous Japanese robot restaurant is the first ready to wear demi-couture collection from Jaime Lee (the label).

Sequins, crystals and all things sparkly are synonymous with Jaime Lee and last night’s runway mot definitely delivered on the sparkle factor. From suits to mini (very mini) dresses to gowns every piece in the “Light Years” collection wowed and amazed and blinded the eye (in the best way possible!) And who could forget the shoes?! Jaime Lee collaborated with Perth born, London based footwear designer Kira Goody. The shoes were so amazing in their own right that they deserve a mention just for the thigh high dragon boots alone! Yep, dragon boots!

Jaime Lee Major loves injecting fun and frivolity into her demi-couture garments and this fun vibe was definitely felt watching last night’s show – Jaime Lee (the label) was less runway show and more runway extravaganza. Pop tracks (including a remixed version of Barbie Girl) played while the models sassed and gave “you can’t sit with us” attitude down the runway. Plenty of hair flicks, heel pops and kisses were directed at the audience and to the photographers stationed in the media pit (to their, and my own delight).

Without a doubt, and by a mile, Jaime Lee has been my favourite collection and show seen so far at TPFF 2015! The whole show just oozed cool factor and I definitely want to be a part of the squad! Congrats Jaime Lee, I am already hanging out for the next one!
