TPFF 2016 Empire Rose

Empire Rose has been Perth’s go to for street style grunge & sports luxe clothing for 20 years. So it came as no surprise that there was a lot of hype surrounding their stand alone TPFF show for their 20th anniversary.

The show started with a 20 to 1 countdown of Empire Rose moments before Lauren Brown, this year’s face of TPFF, model walked down the runway in a Marie Antoinette inspired white teased wig and carrying a tin that trailed smoke behind her.

The signature Empire Rose silhouettes of trainer pants, band tees, wide full skirts and bomber jackets were reinvented in jacquard and sequins of every imaginable colour. Denim also received an update with embroidery and sequins as models strutted the runway to remixed rock & roll classics including the Rolling Stones.

Models were styled with fingerless leather gloves in bright metallic hues, copper platform brogues, mesh bags and crystal Reny Kestel veils.

Empire Rose designer Katherine Cizeika showcased 65 looks, including male models adorned in sequin pants to a standing ovation from the packed crowd in the Fashion Paramount tent.

The show was the perfect mix of grunge meets rock & roll and the perfect way to celebrate 20 years in the fashion industry.

My favourite look of the night? The matte bubblegum sequin trainer pants & bomber jacket – it will be a must have edition to my wardrobe!
