MP Illustration Bridal Workshop

Working in fashion I have a love for the artists of the industry. I am find my biggest inspiration in looking through books of fashion photographers and illustrators (I have a whole book case full of them!) Love to see their unique point of view.

One of my favourite fashion illustrators is Michelle Pike of MP Illustration. I love the way Michelle is able to harness energy, movement and flow in her illustrations. Michelle loves to illustrate females and has perfected the art of showcasing empowered females – fashionable, edgy and glamorous. You can’t help but be inspired by her art an her beautiful and strong women.

Michelle has illustrated street style fashion, fashion runways, books and most recently on the spot outfit drawings for Perth Racing. However it is Michelle’s Fashion Illustration Workshops that really enables her to share her passion and skill with her followers.

I have been lucky enough to do one of Michelle’s workshops and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

Michelle’s workshops cater for all ability levels, from beginners to the advanced and most experienced artist. Michelle not only teaches students how to use watercolours but also how to create beautiful fashion artworks. This means teaching how to harness the movement of fabric onto paper, how to paint white & light colours as well as more technical skills such as “lighting” (and as every fashionista knows lighting is everything!)

Michelle is also very hands on with her teaching and each student is given individualised and personalised feedback. This meant that I walked away from my last workshop with a new skill set I never knew I had as well as the confidence to continue practising my illustration skills at home.

It really is no surprise that Michelle’s past workshops have been fully booked!

Michelle’s newest workshop is offering her students something different. After many requests for Michelle to create custom illustrations of brides Michelle as created a specialised Bridal Workshop where you will be able to draw your own wedding gown, a loved ones’ as a special gift or even your future gown. It is the perfect workshop to do with your Mum (Mother’s day present maybe?) or your best friend.

The Bridal Illustration Workshop is being held of the first time on May 7th and spots are limited to only 10 students, many of which have already been filled. If you are interested then you better secure your spot quick.
