Gifts that Give Back

So Christmas is fast approaching (just over a week to go! Eeek!) and you want to do your bit to make the world a little better for other people in Australia or the world that may be experiencing a rougher Christmas than you could imagine.

And yes you could buy a goat on behalf of your siblings (and while this is a fantastic cause) you just know a thank you card with a picture of said baby goat  wouldn’t cut it with your Fashionista Sista.

So dilemmas right? Don’t stress just yet, I have your back! There are some fantastic Australian companies (whoop, whoop!) that will give you warm fuzzies, but will also be loved by your sister/mum/friends.

One Night Stand Sleepwear

ONS Sleepwear2

One Night Stand Sleepwear is a Melbourne based company that makes fun and cheeky sleepwear featuring printed sleep shirts, shorts and socks. And while the sleepwear is cute (especially the donut tee) ONS sleepwear also help young Australians sleep rough. With every purchase a meal or employment oportunities are provided to a young person living on the streets.

Lyloh Sarongs

Lyloh_Watermelon_Tan

Lyloh Sarongs make the perfect gift for your beach bum friend! The sarongs are made from 100% natural fibres making them feel amazing when tied around the body and can be worn multiple ways from a traditional sarong to a dress and even a jumpsuit! My favourite is the watermelon print, very très summer chic! With every sarong purchase Lyloh donate $5 to a different charity.

Emeldo for Cotton On Foundation

Emeldo

As part of a special project between Emily Dornbusch of Emeldo and the Cotton on Foundation, the stunning Emeldo necklaces have been handmade by women within Mannya and Busibo villages in Southern Uganda. The necklace features candy pink pom poms and a tag with the name of the woman who made the particular necklace. With every purchase of one of these Emeldo necklaces, 100% of the profits go to back to the women in Uganda who made the necklaces, to help provide an income for the women and their communities. These necklaces can be purchased through Cotton On.

So if you have yet to finish your Christmas shopping what are you waiting for? Get going and feel good knowing you are making the world a little brighter for other people in need this Christmas!
